The Adam Mickiewicz "Centre" of Municipal Culture is the leading institution disseminating culture throughout the town area.
In the "Centre" numerous groups and artistic sections are active. The shows of the best national and foreign films take place here. The most distinguished opera and operetta figures are often invited here. The important place among cultural events is taken by concerts of the world famous singer - Wiesław Ochman, which have been organised here since 1993 and which total income is assigned for the needs of the District Hospital  in Zawiercie.  

The “Centre” of Municipal Culture hosted the Polish Small-audience Opera with their first-night performance of "Don Pasquale" with the main role of Gaetano Donizetie performed by Kazimierz Kowalski. In the "Centre" gallery varnishing-days and exhibitions of painters, graphic artists and sculptors famous in Poland and abroad are organised every month, together with jazz, blues or happenings. In Zawiercie gallery the pictures of the following artists were exhibited: Stanisław Baj, Stanisław Batruch, Bogusław Gabryś, Jerzy Duda Gracz, Jan Jończyk, Wiesław Ochman, Zbigniew Pieczykolan, Anna Ryś – Rzepińska, Barbara Przyłuska,  Stanisław Puchalik, Szymon Szumiński, Norbert Witek, Antoni Zydroń, Allan Rzepka, Barbara Jonderko-Jagła.

    There are callisthenics, aerobics, languages, computers, dance classes and clubs meetings of "Psychotronics" and "Chess" group organised at the Centre”. Computer, art or plane modelling workrooms are here, in models made by Marian Kaziród, the World, Europe and Poland Champion as well as Jarosław Janus, Polish Champion were created.
    The Adam Mickiewicz "Centre" of Municipal Culture hosts and organises number of periodic events, which aim at disseminating art and popularising models of native and European culture. Writers, actors and journalists are often invited here. Teenagers have a possibility of watching the most distinguished works of art creators in "Small Jazz Academy" and "Cinema expert" events. Amateur folk groups, acting under the auspices of the Municipal Culture Centre, gain prizes and awards in Polish and foreign reviews of prestigious artistic achievements.  In the year 2005 the “Zawiercie” Folk Dance and Song Group acquired the CIOF (International Council of Organisations for Folklore and Folk Art) Certificate, owing to which they entered the exclusive club of Polish and foreign groups which represent Poland in festivals all over the world.
