The Cracow-Częstochowa Upland abound in dream areas for rock climbing lovers and at the same time it constitutes the biggest climbing area in Poland. There are climbing walkways attainable both for beginners and those which are ranked as the most difficult ones in Poland. Polsce. Only two climbing walkways have been valued at VI.7+ in Polish climbing scale: “Almost everything for sale” passed by Mateusz Kilarski in 1993 r in Podzamcze near Zawiercie and “Unbearable existence’s lightness” passed through the “Kluczwoda” Valley, near Cracow by Peter Korczak in 1992. In 2000 there appeared difficulties connected with one walkway situated in Różnów and called Tom’s Oleksy “1000 chops”. They were recognized as much bigger ones by the author - Oleksy valued it at VI.8. However, this high valuation is questioned by some climbers giving one to understand that two most difficult climbing walkways are still situated on Jura.


Climbing places often visited on Jura

1.    The “Kroczycie” Rocks
There are heaps of marked walkways (about 500) of different difficulty level. There are also  the “Podlesickie” and “Rzędkowickie” Rocks in neighbourhood.

2.    The “Podlesickie” Rocks
A big variety of climbing walkways and neighbourhood of the “Kroczyckie” Rocks and the “Rzędkowickie” Rocks cause that the region became a real “temple” for practicing rock climbing.

3.    The “Rzędkowickie” Rocks
“Rzędkowicki Okiennik” – recommended especially to beginners because of its very good assecuration. Besides, it is a very interesting climbing as it reaches hight of about 30 m.
There are about 300 walkways in those rocks. Routes usually are not more than VI.2
4.    Skarżyce-Żerkowice
“Okiennik Wielki” – the highest walkways reach 50 m. A big variety of levels.
5.    Podzamcze near Zawiercie
Walkways suggested for advanced people. There is a big group of routes from VI.3 to VI.6
